Jensen Precast Pump StationThis phantom drawing was created to show the key components of a duplex pump and lift station system. I found seeing this drawing develop from stage to stage to be very rewarding, starting from the black & white outline CAD drawing to the final, fully rendered illustration you see above. I'm very happy with the final result!

New (sort of) Scientific Illustration AdditionI originally created this image in third year Scientific Illustration but I lost the PSD file with my USB keychain, leaving me with just a low res JPEG. Fortunately, it was selected to be a part the Idea Gallery's Anatomia exhibit at the Ontario Science Center. So I recreated the image for the show and added it to the Scientific Illustration section of my site.
August 5, 2009Total Mine DevelopmentI created this initial web presence for Total Mine Development while I work with programmer Graham Cale to develop a more complex site. I’m looking forward to adding more images and colour to the design while pushing the functionality further with the help of Graham.

Maya Rendering ChallengeRecently I tested and compared three different rendering methods in Maya. The first image was created by combining Global Illumination and Final Gather. It took 9 minutes and 52 seconds to render and also took the most time to setup. The next image was produced by using just Final Gather and took just 3 minutes and 3 seconds to render. The final and fastest method was the "one-click" setup of Physical Sun & Sky. It took just 1 minute and 27 seconds to render.
